Boxing

The sweet science was always and still is a part of Harlem’s rich history. Hector Camacho was a legend of Spanish Harlem, and Sugar Ray Robinson was a 125th street mainstay, and Joe Louis’s knockout of Max Schmeling moved Harlemites to pour into the streets and celebrate. Boxing is in our DNA and we aim to reignite that passion through our youth.

Boxing is one half of our curriculum at HFFA. Students of this program will learn punching technique as well as strength & conditioning. Students will have opportunities to compete in USA Boxing amateur bouts once they’ve displayed satisfactory ability.

I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion’.
