Youth Classes
Youth Programming
Youth programming is at the heart of Harlem Free Fight Academy. Our free classes give teens and young adults a place to train, compete, grow, and belong.
Brazilian jiu-jitsu teaches more than technique. Training gives young people a healthy outlet for stress, anxiety, and built-up energy. It also teaches them how to stay calm when they’re uncomfortable, work through frustration, and keep going when things don’t go their way. Those lessons follow our students far beyond the mat.
The confidence they build here is earned. It comes from learning a difficult technique, making it through a hard round, entering a competition, or simply showing up again after a tough day. We also weave social-emotional learning into our curriculum, helping students understand what they’re feeling and use those skills in their everyday lives.
Just as important, our gym is a community. Students train in a culture of mutual respect, accountability, and encouragement. They learn to trust their teammates, support one another, and know that they have a place where they belong.
Our commitment doesn’t end when class is over. Through monthly check-ins, college and career guidance, résumé building, interview preparation, and future planning, we help students take their next steps with confidence—on the mat and in life.
“I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion’.”
